Elbit Systems wins an 11-year Israeli F-16 maintenance contract

January 6, 2015 (by Lieven Dewitte) - The Israeli Ministry of Defense awarded Elbit Systems a $90 million contract to maintain the Israeli Air Force's F-16 avionics systems for the next 11 years.

Elbit will establish a cutting edge national maintenance center that will look after all the on-board avionics of the IAF’s F-16 A/Bs Netz, F-16 C/Ds Barak and F-16Is Sufa. All of the aircraft's systems, except the body and engine, will be maintained under the contract, an Elbit spokeswoman said.

Elbit Systems has operational experience in performing outsourcing logistic support services for customers both in Israel and abroad.

Last November Elbit was also awarded a $29 Million contract to provide logistics support to the United States Air Force's F-16 head-up display (HUD) electric module assemblies.
