Possible sale of AMRAAM's to Turkey

The U.S. Department of Defense announced today the possible sale to The Government of Turkey of 138 AIM-120Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM), 120 LAU-129A/Alaunchers, containers, spare and repair parts, and other related elements of logistics and program support.
The estimated cost is $62 million. Turkey needs these missiles to augment its current AMRAAM air-to-air missile inventory and enhance the air defense capability of its F-16aircraft. Turkey will have no difficulty absorbing these additional missiles into its armed forces.
