Charlotte based Curtiss-Wright Controls Inc. have been awarded a multi-year contract valued at over $14 million from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics to provide F-16 Leading Edge Flap Rotary Actuators and attachment Tie Bars.
This new contract is a follow on to an existing work which Lockheed Martin had awarded to Curtiss-Wright Controlʼs who have been providing Leading Edge Flap Rotary Actuators for the F-16 since 1991.
The Leading Edge Flap Actuators and Tie Bars provide both the mechanical connections and active operation of the F-16ʼs wings Leading Edge Flap Control Surface.
"This follow-on contract further demonstrates Lockheed Martin's confidence in Curtiss-Wright Controlsʼ ability to provide the highest performance, most reliable, and best value product for the F-16," said David Adams, President of Curtiss-Wright Controls. "We deeply value our long-time partnership with Lockheed Martin and are proud to play such a critical role in the domestic and international success of the F-16 program."
