Nordam wins Air Force contract
September 8, 2006 (by
Lieven Dewitte) -
Nordam has been chosen as a contractor to make parts for the U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jets. They will make the leading edge flaps and engine access covers for the Viper
The contract is for 5 years and is expected to be worth more than $15 million dollars.
The Nordam Group recently obtained a license to manufacture and repair bonded and structural components for the US fleet of F-16 s.
That contract included wings, flight-control surfaces, access doors, landing-gear doors, fuselage structures and all related sub-components and gives Nordam access to Lockheed-owned tooling and technical data required to manufacture and repair these structures.
The Nordam Group, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma USA, is one of the largest independently owned aerospace companies in the world. It is also one of the world's largest third-party providers of maintenance, repair and overhaul services to the military, commercial airline and air freight markets
