Lockheed Martin has awarded contracts worth more than $33 million to BAE Systems for continued production of advanced identification friend or foe (IFF) avionics systems for the F-16.
The contracts will support avionics requirements for the upgraded Air Force F-16 block 50/52 aircraft, the Peace Xenia program for Greece, and for other F-16 aircraft. Designated AN/APX-113, the advanced IFF system is a combined interrogator transponder currently employed on fighter and surveillance aircraft of 12 nations.
