F-16 History

The only unit to reside at Andravida is SOT. This unit is specifically tasked with testing of new equipment and also the testing of specific Greek equipment that differs from the standard F-16 armament or electronic suite. The squadron therefore hosts airframes of all three block types in use with the Hellenic Air Force, being block 30, block 50 and block 52 airframes.

Most of the time, the unit does not have a fixed amount of airframes at its disposal, but merely borrows airframes from operational units when the need arises to perform some flight testing.
