Rich Scobee punctuated the end of the National Anthem by doing a fly-by over the Sun Devil Stadium (Phoenix, Arizona) at the XXX Super Bowl. Together with Maj. Bill Hyatt and Capt. David "Loogie" Lujan they are members of the 78th Fighter Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base. Capt. Dodd is the Squadron Commander. Maj. Bill Hyatt and Capt. David "Loogie" Lujan were about three miles in trail during the whole ordeal, ready to fall into formation in case something went wrong. David passed the 2K marker at this event. The flight also observed the tenth anniversary of the loss of the Space Shuttle Challenger and its eight-member crew. Scobee is the son of the Challenger mission commander, Dick Scobee.
