F-16 #
91388 [Detailed history of
this F-16] I diverted in tail 91-388 to Bush Regional in Augusta, Georgia, while a member of the 55FS at Shaw AFB, SC. The aircraft experienced an FMS malfunction shortly after checking into the airspace for our training that day and my fuel gauges suddenly reported zero pounds remaining. The local Sherriff pulled up to my jet after I shut down on the ramp and, looking up at me in the cockpit, asked if I was Bill Irvin. I was puzzeled as to how he could possibly know that until I realized I was flying my tail that day and my name was proudly displayed on the canopy rail. What a day to be in my own jet! |
