Ted was one of the ones to experience the initial design flaws in the f-16. I am deeply sorry for his death and my condolances to his family.

A fallen Hero

I knew Capt Harduvell when stationed at MacDill AFB when he was flying F-4's in the 13th Panther Pac. Awesome pilot and friend. I found an "Atta-Boy" written by him on my launch performance. He was always one to praise, stop and talk to crew chiefs.

To this day I still remember him.

May he rest in peace!

Knowing Ted for a minute

I knew Ted and his family when I was very young and my father flew with him. I barely knew him but I will never forget his sacrifice to his country and his contribution to the fighter community.

Afterburn

Peace and many blessings to the Harduvell family. A few years after my cousin’s passing AFTER Desert Storm in 1991 while in another F-16 and on a training “ride along” (Air Force Capt. Michael T. Sowell), my cousin perished and our family was devastated. A few years later I saw a very inspirational movie inspired by Captain Ted’s life. HBO’s “Afterburn” was about accountability (military), courage (Ted’s dear wife) and perhaps most importantly the integrity of one of The U.S. Air Forces’ own, Captain Harduvell, whom sacrificed his life courageously in spite of cover ups in the military. Exposed and brought to bare for cover up tactics the military has finally and permanently “grounded” the F-16 and hopefully grounded many flaws in general in terms of how our military heroes both men and women that have sacrificed their lives for this country are recognized. No more cover ups. This isn’t about national security this is about the families of dedicated soldiers sworn to protect us all. Brother Ted, you and the many others are always in our hearts and NEVER EVER forgotten.
