Memorial day remembrance
Charlie Hayes, May 28, 2011 - 12:55 AM

I had my last fligtht in the F-4 with Jeff Dennis. He was a very good stick and WSO's pilot. As the scheduler, he could always find you a payday if you wanted to fly. I'm not sure what made me remember Jeff this Memorial Day weekend, but I want to honor that memory.

thinking of my uncle
Andrea Dennis Gollnick, Nov 05, 2011 - 01:03 PM

Just thinking of what life would be like if my uncle Jeff was still here. I miss him and know my dad misses him. Not sure what made me search the internet for him...but glad to find someone else was missing him too.

I grew up with the Dennis familiy. I am just a year younger than Jeff Jr. I remember fishing with Jeff Jr with or dads. Camping almost every weekend in the summer. I grew up on Colorado Street in Duluth and then both families moved to Woodland Ave. My parents Jack and Sharyn Eckholm sure had alot of fun with Jody and Jeff Sr. Does anyone out there know how to get in touch with Jeff Jr.? Please let him know Im looking for him. Thank you, god bless, Brian 612-799-7667

Brian-

I am Jeffrey's cousin Andrea, Scott's daughter. I will let Jeff Jr. know you're looking for him and pass on your contact info through my dad. Cool to see someone write after me.

Cheers,

Andrea

Not a day goes by I don't think about my brother. Closure is simply not going to happen in this lifetime. So much not said and done. He was so easy to love and impossible to forget. Mom I'm sure is at peace joining him April of 2009. Who will be able to tell the whole story after 20 years?

I am Jeff Dennis Sr.'s grand son, and although I was born 2 years after he passed I have heard many great stories and seen pictures, I was just interested in what if anything was online about him and glad I found this. Uncle Scott and Cousin Andrea I hope you both are doing well and say hi to the rest of the family for me!

Jeff Jr. Was my "Big Brother" in childhood in Duluth, but we've lost touch over the years. If anyone can put me in touch, please do so. I can be reached at BrownMTB@gmail.com or at 763-242-7412.

I served in the Duluth ANG from 1976-1984 with the 179th as an aerial reconnaissance Photo interpreter. Jeff and another F-4 pilot(Jack Arotta) were close personal friends of mine . I was living here in California when I got news of Jeff's death and I've been devastated ever since. I hope you find peace and know that he was a beautiful soul, kind man and a hero in many of our lives. I've lost contact with his ex roommate/friend Jack Arotta. Please pass my email on to him if you know of his whereabouts. 909 525-5943.

After almost 25 years the lack of closure is eating at me, making it all the more unbearable. There comes a time when you have to know the answers. Maybe I can live with the pain but the purgatory, the limbo, the not knowing --the hope--has become more painful than death. And that just makes this tragedy more obscene. It is horrible enough to suffer like this. But this--wishing, no matter what, that it would end--is even worse.

death certificate lists Jeff Dennis as her deceased husband.

Her maiden name was Debra Marie Guerard. My name is Lindsay Clayton and I am from Grand Rapids,MN. She had been previously married to my father.

Missing F16
James wiese, Oct 11, 2019 - 02:06 AM

We recently discoverd an A6 that went missing from the USS Nimitz in 1985..

DPAA will begin recovery efforts in Dec. 2019...

We are now beginning a search effort for the missing F16 that left Howard AFB in Dec. 1991 and never returned to base... Pilot LTC Jeffery Dennis.

We searched for 34 years for the A6 and found it at last.. Deep in the jungle of Panama..

We are just beginning this search for the F16. We will do all that we can and follow all leads... We want to bring these heros home... Its time.

Visit my face book page and read the reports of the A6 discovery and recovery efforts.

I tried to search for your facebook page, as this is obviously something that is very dear to my heart. Please tell me how to find you, or to keep in contact with you as you search for my only hero, Lt. Col. Jeff Dennis, my father. Thank you,

I flew with the 148th FS on a famflight with LtCol. Jeff Dennis as my pilot. Years later, stationed at Howard AB and participating in the 630 RADS counter-narcotics mission I ran into Lt.Col Jeff Dennis when his squadron was deployed to support this mission. We talked for little. I went on shift a couple days later, a mid, there was a SAR mission going on. I learned his a/c did not return from a flight. He was good guy.

Jeff and I first crossed paths during the summer of 1984 as the 179 FIS converted from the RF-4C back to the interceptor role and the F-4D. I deployed to Duluth with a small radar squadron from Wisconsin to help with the conversion, and later the conversion to the F-16ADF. Jeff was our gracious host and someone who always put others first. He was a warm and welcoming person and his loss had a tremendous impact on those near and far from Minnesota. I hope some day there will be closure on what exactly happened.

Jeff's grandson
Jae Dennis, Aug 21, 2022 - 07:14 AM

I miss my dad very much. On 28 August his first grandchild, only grandson will be getting married. Dad would have been an amazing grandfather! And it hurts my heart to know he never got to meet this fabulous child. That my son missed out on all that my dad was makes me sad. This is a day they should be celebrating together.

I truly miss Jeff???

Jeff and I often hung out together, especially when he was planning to cook a fish dinner. We had so many things in common, a casual but strong connection! We would go for rides in his little sports car laughing, and listening to Streisand without a care in the world.
