It's been over a year since my last post. Im still missing you today, more than ever. My heart aches for you. Were you scared, did you even see it coming? Did you suffer? I pray for you every day. You were always able to make me smile..memories of you still do! Merry Christmas JJ Love you

Joey, I've cried so many times over the years since Marty's mother told me what happened to you. It's the little things that remind me of you, Hershey's Deep Dark Chocolates because you were the only person who took them out of my candy dish; nobody else liked them, young pilots at the base (I'm married to an AF Colonel), and a beautiful letter of thanks that you wrote to me on a plain piece of notebook paper torn out of a notebook and folded into a square. That is one of my most priceless gifts from students. I am so proud of you that you accomplished your goal and so sad that your dream was cut so short. You will always stand for everything that is good, focused,hard-working, friendly, polite, cheerful....golden. I always know when a kid is a "Joey McConnell", someone special.
