My Only Meeting With Col Neisz
Dale Tolleson, Dec 24, 2008 - 09:52 PM

I met Lt. Col Neisz my first day on the job. I was a 2nd Lt and it was my first assignment as an officer. Capt. Goenaga, the 421st AMU OIC was showing me around the unit and we took a walk out to the fightline. Col Neisz was about to fly, but took a few moments to introduce himself. After the pleasantries, he looked behind me and said, "you have plenty of ass...you'll do fine in maintenance." With that he climbed into the cockpit, took off, and never returned. Afterwards I learned of his great accomplishments at FWS and his leadership ability as a commander. He was greatly missed and my experience was one that introduced me to the grave risks of those who fly.

IP for TX course

Maj. Roy Neisz was my instructor for the TX course in Spring 1981. An exemplary pilot who demanded the best from himself and those around him. RIP.
