There was a double scramble by Italian F-16s yesterday evening. An Iranian Foxtrot 100 took off from France for Greece, authorised to travel north of the Alps. The aircraft however, veered off course around Abenga.

Israeli F-16s to participate at Maple Flag XXXVIII

For the first time, the IDF/AF is dispatching fighter jets to Canada to participate in the Maple Flag exercises which will take place May 15-June 24. They will have 10 F-16s and about 150 air crew in Alberta.

"Italian" F-16 makes emergency landing in Canada

Yesterday, engine trouble forced a US pilot to land his F-16 Fighting Falcon in North Bay - Canada. Lt.-Col. Kurt Tek circled above the city for about 20 minutes before landing the jet at North Bay's airport.

Pratt & Whitney is being awarded a $25,515,000 firm-fixed price contract to provide for overhaul and upgrade of forty each, F100PW200 engines to 38 F100PW220E engines and two each module sets for the Italian Air Force Peace Caesar F-16 program. This effort supports foreign military sales to Italy.
