Mideast customers expect on-time F-16 deliveries

US lifts arms embargo to Pakistan, offers to supply more F-16s
Oct 16, 2001 - India could also gain from the cancelling of sanctions with the accelerated development of its light combat aircraft.

Political moves are afoot in Washington DC to offer Pakistan the 28 Lockheed Martin F-16A/B fighters originally ordered by the country in 1989, but not delivered because of the U-SA's only recently revoked arms embargo. US woos Oman with fighter deal

Further F-16 offers for Hungary
Aug 30, 2001 - Belgium has joined the growing list of countries willing to lease fighter aircraft to Hungary, offering 18 F-16s that need to be overhauled. A Belgian delegation is due in Budapest this week to offer the planes, which it would upgrade beforehand.

A reported fifth offer from Israel was denied by the Hungarian Defense Ministry, although the Israeli Defense Ministry?s Middle East Newsline website said the offer had been made and that Hungarian officials had already viewed the aircraft. [Read more...]

Egypt accepts delivery of new F-16s

Israel, Hungary discuss F-16 upgrade
Aug 22, 2001 - Hungary is examining an Israeli offer for the upgrade of F-16 A and B model jets Budapest plans to lease from the United States.

Israeli and Hungarian defense officials said an Israeli consortium has presented an offer to upgrade 24 F-16s. They said the upgrade is based on the F-16 upgraded prototype that the consortium has completed for the Israel Air Force. American F-16 fighter jet from Incirlik made 23-minute flight over Syria

Greece wants more U.S. F-16s
Aug 09, 2001 - Greece plans to exercise an option to buy additional F-16 warplanes from the United States.
