First International JDAM Sale: Boeing to Integrate Weapon on Israeli Aircraft
May 31, 2000 - The Boeing Company has received an $8. 2 million foreign military sales contract from the U.S. Air Force to integrate the Joint Direct Attack Munition on Israeli F-16 Peace Marble II & III aircraft. This contract marks the first international sale of JDAM. Boeing will deliver and integrate JDAM test kits for Mk-84, 2, 000-pound warheads onto the F-16. Air Force Contracts
May 11, 2000 - Lockheed Martin Corp., Orlando, Fla., is being awarded a $6, 844, 380 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide for engineering and manufacturing development of a Bomb Impact Assessment Modification in support of the Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night (LANTIRN) system on the F-15 and F-16 aircraft. This modification is intended to integrate a radiometer and digital recorder into the LANTIRN pod to provide an enhanced capability for bomb impact assessment. [Read more...]
U.S. Air Force Orders More F-16s
May 08, 2000 - The U.S. Air Force signed an order for nine more F-16s and associated Alternate Mission Equipment plus an option for one additional aircraft from Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin Delivers 4,000th F-16 to Egypt
Apr 28, 2000 - The 4,000th aircraft, an F-16C for the Egyptian Air Force, is part of the country's fifth order of Fighting Falcons.
