Pratt & Whitney engines for Italian Vipers

Pratt & Whitney is being awarded a $25,515,000 firm-fixed price contract to provide for overhaul and upgrade of forty each, F100PW200 engines to 38 F100PW220E engines and two each module sets for the Italian Air Force Peace Caesar F-16 program. This effort supports foreign military sales to Italy.

Israel formally agrees to buy 52 F-16s

Israel has formally agreed to purchase another 52 F-16 multi-role fighters from the United States. The Israeli agreement exercises an option to pay Lockheed Martin $1.3 billion for the F-16s. The total sale - which will include engines and subsystems - will amount to $2 billion.

US lifts arms embargo to Pakistan, offers to supply more F-16s

India could also gain from the cancelling of sanctions with the accelerated development of its light combat aircraft.
Political moves are afoot in Washington DC to offer Pakistan the 28 Lockheed Martin F-16A/B fighters originally ordered by the country in 1989, but not delivered because of the U-SA's only recently revoked arms embargo. India is also set to benefit with accelerated development of its Light Combat Aircraft (LCA).

The Government of Greece has announced its selection of Pratt & Whitney's F100-PW-229 engine as the propulsion system for its new procurement of 50 Lockheed Martin F-16 aircraft. With the Greek government as a customer, there are now 20 countries internationally using the F100 engine, in addition to the U.S. Air Force.

Israel buys 50 Block 52s

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $1.34 billion contract to build 50 F-16D fighter jets for Israel by the U.S. Department of Defense. This completes negotiations that began after Israel's July selection of the advanced F-16 as its new fighter and follows a letter of acceptance signed between the two countries in September.
