F-16 fitted with Navy jet's fuselage

Parts from two jets - one Navy and one Air Force - were joined together through the ingenuity of the 649th Combat Logistics Support Squadron and Ogden ALC engineers. The front-end fuselage of a Navy combat trainer F-16C was fitted on to an Air Force F-16C here April 14.

419th FW prepares for 20-year anniversary of F-16

January 28 marks the twentieth anniversary of the Air Force Reserve Command's formal acceptance of the F-16 into its aircraft inventory. In February 1982, the Air Force announced that the Air Force Reserve would receive F-16s at Hill Air Force Base, Utah in 1984.

250 AFRES and ANG F-16s to be Equiped with Targeting Pods

The US Air Force plans to equip up to almost 250 F-16s of the Air Force Reserve Command and Air National Guard with targeting pods for close support and battlefield air interdiction. Candidate systems must be self-contained and capable of recognizing ground targets at stand-off distances and designate them for attack with laser-guided weapons. The contract is scheduled for award in August.
