Stealthy Cruise Missiles for Polish F-16s

Lockheed Martin has won a contract to supply AGM-158 JASSMs to the Polish Air Force. The cruise missiles will be fitted onto the 48 F-16C/D Block 52s that are currently in Polish service. This makes the country the third international JASSM customer following Australia and Finland.

Spatial disorientation caused fatal F-16 crash in Gulf of Mexico

An Air Force report says spatial disorientation caused a civilian pilot to fatally crash an F-16 last November in the Gulf of Mexico. A report by Air Combat Command at Langley AFB says LaCourse was intercepting another jet when he became disoriented. The maneuvers stimulated fluid in the pilot's inner ear canals that affect perceptions of gravity, movement and direction.

Airline intercepted by F-16s from Buckley AFB

The F-16s from the 140th wing COANG were scrambled out of of Buckley AFB shortly after 18.00h Friday evening to intercept a flight in route from Las Vegas to Frankfurt Germany. The F-16s were scrambled to intercept Condor Flight 83 when the pilot declared an in flight emergency due to an unruly passenger.

Two F-16s (#85-1546 & #85-1549) collided shortly after landing at Nellis Air Force Base on Saturday morning around 11:20h. The jets, assigned to the 301st Fighter Wing, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, Texas returned from a flight operation to the base outside Las Vegas.

US F-16 crashes in Germany - Pilot safe

A pilot ejected from a U.S. F-16 before it crashed Tuesday morning around 09:00h in a forested area in southern Germany. He parachuted to safety but suffered minor injuries which required medical attention, according to a local police spokesman.
