Awesome jet . Only thing wrong with her was the alignment marks on NLG steering. I'd get NWS write ups the first two or three sorties after every phase insp. Freiheit Falke, Freedom Falcon.

Crew Chief: At time: Tsgt. Daniel Williams.
Arrived Hahn Germany early 80's. Picked up crew of this plane while there. It was a neglected plane when I got it. Hydraulic leaks and especialy bolts loose all over panels and the previous people had neglected it. It took about 3 months to put it back in shape and about three boxes of screws and retainers. Spent several nights late getting hydraulics in shape but it became high flyer several months and the personal choice of the squadron flight officer.
--------------------
A cool note: Even though the previous Crew cheif wasn't much good at mechanics he was a good artist. On the side of the engine intake he had painted in appropriate medium blue "friehightfalc"
(sorry, probably got spelling wrong.) It stood for "high flying falcon". I kept that on the plane though any art at the time was frowned on. No one ever told me to remove it and it distiguished the plane.
When I returned to the states I went to an air show. My sons ran up to me all excited and sayed my plane 610 picture was there. Lone and behold it was a picture of a month in calender. It hangs in my garage to this day.
What amazes me even today is how close us fighter crew chiefs got to our planes. I crewed three F16s during my service and remember all the numbers to this date.
One more thing: During this time " We" Our ICT (intigrated combat turn team) won a quick turn competition with this plane. We tuned the plane in shorter time than had ever been accomplish in history at the time. I still have the cup sitting in my living room.

Every one in the 10 TFS were absolute top notch and Im proud I got the chance to work with them.
