IDFAF F-16B #986 (with double registration 4X-ACE) seen at the Le Bourget exhibition in June 2001. The ACE upgrade consist out of the integration of more modern electronics and a more modern cockpit lay-out. This upgrade is intended to be used on older A/B F-16 models. IDFAF F-16B block 5 (original) #986 came to Israel in 1994. It was never used by the IDFAF and in 2001 turned to be a test bird for the ACE program in which it received code 4X-ACE and serial #313 equiped with the IAI EL/M-2032 radar and some other new electronics. Used by Israeli Aircraft Industries and was reserialed 313 during the demonstration fase but is normally 986.

IDFAF F-16B block 5 (original) #313 was first delivered to the IDFAF as #986, but used by Israeli Aircraft Industires for the ACE program. When no orders could be secured, the airframe was stored at Ben Gurion IAP. [<a href="http://www.jetphotos.net" target="new">Jetphotos.net</a> photo by 4x6zk]
After testing was concluded and no contracts were signed, the airframe was stored at Ben Gurion IAP.
