    Behind the Scenes

Amazingly, slightly more than a year before this photo was taken, this particular aircraft had departed the runway at an overseas combat location and was so severely damaged that it had to be dissassembled and returned to Homestead ARB in crates and aboard a 40-ft flatbed trailer. After a Hill AFB depot team repaired the structural damage to the aircraft, the men & women of the 482nd Aircraft Mx and Maintenance Squadrons went to work completely overhauling this aircraft to make it not only factory-new - but the new flagship for Air Force Reserve Command. The insignia on the intake reflect the markings of all of the direct reporting agencies to AFRC. Lt Gen Bradley's first two flights in Acft 86-264 were both Code I!
