Two soldiers in a sport utility vehicle had the scare of their live when an F-16 fighter jet from Hill Air Force Base opened fire on their SUV at the Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR).

During a deployment to Saudi Arabia for Operation Southern Watch earlier in 2002 this aircraft was marked on the tail with a faint tiger head in chalk. Once the aircraft returned home a more permanent one was painted on both sides of the tail just aft of the tail code and serial number. This tiger head paint scheme was not displayed at any Tiger Meet.
