The nose-art was painted by the wife of the pilot, Lt.Col Bill (William) Campenni. The drawing was a panda bear with a bomb under one arm and an AIM-9 missile under the other, with smaller details of a honey jar and bee. The pilot, Lt. Col. Bill Campenni always carried along a scraggly stuffed panda bear for 20 years and over 3,000 hours. Both bear and pilot are now in retirement in Virginia.
