Last Crew Chief: Larry Goodale. This airplane was in formation with me on the boneyard delivery flight 30 March 1994. Maj Al Hoover (Southwest Airlines) my pilot asked me if I ever wondered what it was like to fly in the slot with the T-birds. I said "Sure" and we tucked up under the ventral fins of 489 for a photo shoot. This jet was delivered by Maj Sammy Dowds, (Southwest Airlines) and the last 100 miles was low level. Sammy commented on the extended length of taxi to AMARC after landing and then we decided we must be following the "roach coach" and not the FOLLOW ME truck cause we were going forever. I have it all on Hud Video!
