There is plenty in the Indian press about it. Would you like to look in the French press? Not that it will stop the bribes. A lot of countries require kickbacks to get a sale.

We have some new players. Is it too soon to repost the 5th gen SORB sensor, Spectra OmniRole Binoculars?

The Rafale availability in France is about 48.5%. They are guaranteeing the Indians 75%. Good luck with that. I don't know why they want to highlight the longer turn-around and maintenance times of the SU-30? We all know that the Russians aren't the best examples. Although they are higher availability than the French Rafale. The SU-30 is 55% availability, a promised 75%. With also, longer servicing and maintenance times. 2.5 times according to the article. We will see how the availability rate goes with the Rafale.

The last Indian Rafale has arrived and they are going to upgrade the systems on all 36. It shows that the spectra Omnirole, may not be as spectra Omnirole, as we were lead to believe? They are using some Israeli stuff on it.

However, it is the 36th Rafale fighter that will be equipped with all India specific enhancements to make the platform more lethal. Already India specific enhancements have been included in Hammer air to ground, SCALP land attack and Meteor air to air missiles used by Rafale with more range, more height and more accuracy. It is only after the 36th fighter has landed after testing all

India specific enhancements with some technologies having Israeli origins that the previous 35 fighters will be fitted with all the enhancements. [including the Israeli stuff]

radio altimeter,
radar warning receiver,
low band jammer,
flight data recorder,
high-altitude engine start-up,
synthetic aperture radar,
ground moving target indicator and tracking,
infra-red search and track,
helmet-mounted display,
missile approach warning systems
very high-frequency range decoys.

France confirms deal with Greece for six more Rafale fighter jets for a total of 24 Rafale.

If the availability rates from France in 2016(48,5%) have not gone up a greate deal this sounds like a bad deal for Greece.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Greece get a 'massive discount' on this Rafale purchase because these are second hand aircraft?
“Active stealth” is what the ignorant nay sayers call ECM and pretend like it’s new.

Maybe some, but it seems more predicated on fast delivery. Some signaling to Turkey due to recent tensions too.

The original plan was 6 new and 12 second hand. But the second hand ones are also very fresh:
The used planes are extremely recent since all of them with the standard F3-O4T. A standard deployed in the Air Force between the end of 2012 and 2018.

https://www.airlive.net/greece-to-acqui ... air-force/

Then there are the existing synergies from Mirage, which already use MICA, Exocet and SCALP.

France also wanted to sell Belharra frigates to Greece, so there could've been some incentives to discount the 2nd hand Rafales. Still my opinion is that they might regard fulfilling Greece's almost immediate initial delivery as the main favor.

12 used Rafales worked also in Croatia (there 12 for 1 billion sounds cheap, but they are likely getting very few weapons), so they finally found their recipe in Europe. Unfortunately it's not applicable in Finland. But piecemeal deals to poorer countries...

With the Greeks. As this stage they say they are going ahead with an order of F-35, as there is a 5 year infrastructure build. It looks like out of their 120 F-16, 84 are going to be updated to block 72. So They are going to run 3 platforms. That gets expensive.

"The upgrade program includes the modernization of 84 F-16 fighters (54 Block 52+ and 30 Block 52+ Advanced) at the Block 72 Viper level."
