YF-22 off the shelf components

Anything goes, as long as it is about the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor

Hi all,

Got a query for those in the know regarding the YF-22 demonstrator aircraft. Did the original two airframes use any off the shelf components such as landing gear or wheels like the YF-23 did? From what I understand the ejection seat was a standard ACES II, is that correct? If so, did it "borrow" any other components such as stick or throttle quadrant? I have searched the web for any information regarding the design and manufacture of the original two aircraft but have turned up nothing. It is for a modelling project I am starting and I want to see if I can utilise parts from other kits.

Cheers,

Sam :)

I believe that the YF-22 used F-15E main landing gear struts / brakes/ wheels / tires

Thanks, thats helpful. Will look for some after market stuff for the gear. Hopefully other folk may be able to chime in with other stuff.

Cheers,

Sam
