On accident day, at Ao Gu Wetland, a photographer claimed he saw a jet fighter flying low, and consecutively rolling.
He thought it acted strange, and took photos, even when it splashed into sea.
He gave the photos, taken at different angles, to ROC military.

12 JAN 2022: Reporters interviewed a retired ROCAF seed F-16 instructor pilot, after he watched photos of the accident F-16 just before it crashed... but I can't find these photos yet.

He said the F-16 was diving, rolling, sometimes inverted, and air brakes were fully opened.
Also, the pilot pressed down the mic button, so the pilot couldn't hear incoming radio chatter.

He wondered why the pilot would hold the throttle grip this way?

Regrettably, Captain Chen Yi was formally declared dead over the weekend, after DNA testing confirmed that the human remains recovered were his. His family has conducted funeral rites for him, while an official ROCAF memorial service will be held at a later date.

Sand dredgers are now at the crash site removing mud and sand to facilitate the recovery of the black box and other wreckage not yet found.

Auto-GCAS installation for the upgraded ROCAF Vs is expected to start in November 2023. https://www.overtdefense.com/2022/01/17 ... ing-crash/

What a shitty way to ring in the Lunar New Year.
