CALSPAN still has an opening for an F-16 Avionics Technician here at Edwards. This is working on the Vista Test Aircraft.

The Avionics Technician will support testing and engineering including operating and maintaining of test equipment.

Description for Avionics Technician: •Perform inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and project installations and modifications to any FLTR aircraft assigned to support.
•Fabricate and/or modify electronic enclosures, panels, circuit boards and wire harnesses for FLTR applications. Work quality shall be to the acceptable level for aircraft installations where applicable.
•Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after testing.
•Follow established quality assurance procedures with regard to all work performed on and associated with FLTR aircraft.

Preferred Education / Experience for Avionics Technician: •AAS in related discipline
•3+ years in related discipline or;
•A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability for Avionics Technician: •Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
•Electrical and electronic principles
•Perform operations and execute test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition
•Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
•Testing and inspection principles and procedures
