Snark on> This story is not possible - I read on the internet, that no F-35 was allowed to fly within 1000 km of possible lightning, and if struck they would be an instant fireball ...
Snark off>

Good to hear crew and planes okay. That'll make the hair on your arms stand up :D

That paragon of reporting, alert5.com said it was just "lighting," probably just Xeon lamps or something.

Geez, people can't even cut and paste anymore?
Take an F-16, stir in A-7, dollop of F-117, gob of F-22, dash of F/A-18, sprinkle with AV-8B, stir well + bake. Whaddya get? F-35.

I think you did fine Spaz. I observe that the copy on the alert5.com website is incorrect. The Navy -- or wuzzit the jarheads -- spelt it correctly. Whodathunk the flying crayoneaters could spell "Lightning" correctly? But Alert5 apparently cannot copy-and-paste very well. Their mouse driver must have a malware, probably from China (my guess), that inserts spelling errors.

A Very Sturdy F-35B...!! wow!
The F-35 proved to be resistant to Lightning. :applause: (Besides, that's with two aircraft at the same time. Double. 8) )
