The USAF F-16 fleet mainly operates with AN/ALR-56M Radar Warning Receiver.
Is it a more capable system compared to other RWRs like Carapace, AN/ALR-93, AN/ALR-69 that were also once used by F-16s?
I did a little research about the band coverage of AN/ALR-56M but none of the documents I found gave a conclusive answer, especially on whether it has C,D band coverage.
Some say it's omnidirectional, does that mean NO accurate direct finding on azimuth?
iirc since Block15 ADF, the F-16 has cancelled a set of radar warning antenna below its engine intake and used dual blade antenna under the nosecone instead, does this change have anything to do with RWR's band coverage?
