Singapore Getting 20 New F-16 Fighters from U.S

July 13, 2000 (by Lieven Dewitte) - The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) is getting 20 new F-16 fighters from the United States for a start in its bid to replace its aging A-4 Super Skyhawks, local TV Channel News Asia said in its broadcast Friday.
Singapore Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defense Teo Chee Hean was quoted as making the revelation while previewing RSAF's Black Nights aerobatics display for this year's national Day Parade.

The RSAF currently has 70 A-4 Super Skyhawks and more than 30 F-16 fighters.
