PAF developing "Super F-16"

April 25, 2003 (by Lieven Dewitte) - Pakistan has achieved self-reliance in overhauling their F-16 fighter aircraft. According to Pakistani sources, the F-16 has even been upgraded.
"To make its air defence stronger, Pakistan has also decided to conduct a first test flight of the prototype Super-7 fighter aircraft in June 2003," officials revealed.

The manufacturing of Super-7 is underway with Chinese collaboration and it would presumably be ready for test flight in a few months.

The officials said that the upcoming Super-7 would be the main fighter aircraft of Pakistan and it would be formally introduced into the air force after five to six years. From technical aspect, the Super-7 is claimed to be superior to the F-16.

"We have also achieved the desired results in exporting our defence products and a number of countries have shown interest in buying them," they further said.

A Saudi Arabian delegation would soon be visiting Pakistan to finalise purchase of the Super Mushak. Oman and Iran have already purchased the K-8 Super Mushak and Pakistan is already producing it in collaboration with China.
