August 22, 2000 (by Lieven Dewitte) - While Norwegian F-16 aircraft have so far only carried out patrol and escort duties, the fighter jets are to be used as attack aircraft equipped with rockets and bombs from 2003.
The change will make Norway a full participant in any future NATO actions. According to Dagsavisen, the change will cost about 3 billion NOK.
