Romania's last F-16 delivered

March 25, 2021 (by Bjorn Claes) - Today the last Romanian F-16 under the Peace Carpathian II program was delivered. F-16A #1615 left Monte Real AB in the early morning to make a stop-over at Aviano AB for its final destination at Feteşti AB.

This is one of the aiframes delivered under the Peace Carpathian I order.

Back in 2013 the Romanian government signed a contract with its Portuguese counterpart for the delivery of 12 F-16s, compromising 9 single-seaters and 3 dual-seaters. Deliveries of those was accomplished between October of 2016 and September of 2017. This order became known under the Peace Carpathian I order.

In 2019 a 'mini-deal', known as Peace Carpathian II, was signed between the same parties for the delivery of another 5 airframes, all compromising single-seat airframes. Deliveries were made in August and October of 2020 with the final one now in March of 2021.
