February 14, 2000 (by Lieven Dewitte) - Kuwait could be interested in purchasing Lockheed Martin F-16 fighter aircraft. LMTAS apparently gave an information briefing to Kuwait and now talks are at a "discussion level. " This comes less than a decade after Kuwait received 40 new F/A-18C/D fighters.
There are currently five Middle East countries with F-16s, and the United Arab Emirates
is currently in contract negotiations with the U.S. government for the purchase of about 80 planes.
