Turkish F-16 crashes in central Turkey

An F-16 fighter jet belonging to the Turkish Air Force has crashed in central Turkey, the Turkish army says. The pilot survived.
The aircraft crashed in Amasya province's Merzifon district.
The Turkish General Staff released a written statement saying the pilot ejected and was not injured. The statement went on to say the F-16 fighter jet took off from the Merzifon 5th Main Jet Base Command at about 10:50hrs local for a training flight and crashed 36 kilometers away from the Merzifon district center.
However, no further details have been released as to the exact cause of the incident.
