Taiwan seeks $420 Million in F-16 training and support

November 11, 1997 (by Lieven Dewitte) - Taiwan is seeking $420 million in pilot training and support for its F-16fighter jets and spare parts for a wide range of Taipei's military aircraft.
Congress is expected to approve the moves without objection.

Taipei would pay the U.S. government $280 million for the continuation of a pilot training and logistics support program for its F-16 fighter jets at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. It would pay another $140 million to a large number of U.S. contractors for spare parts in support of fighter jets, training aircraft and military transport planes.
