The Israeli air force had acquired the small Chinese UAVs to practice their shoot-down techniques.

The air force began training for such a need after Hizbullah successfully sent a UAV into Israel during the Second Lebanon War.

The pilot managed to locate the small target and down it using 140 rounds of his M61A1 20mm Vulcan cannon.

The air force has also introduced new sensors that have improved its ability to detect UAVs trying to enter Israeli airspace.
