New F-16 sim game from Virgin Interactive

May 5, 1998 (by Lieven Dewitte) - Virgin Interactive announces the release of F-16 Aggressor -- a new combat flight sim that, according to them, raises the standards of PC-based sims to a level of realism found only in the most advanced military and airline training simulations.
As a mercenary ace pilot extraordinaire, the player will get to jump into the cockpit of this lethal jet and fly in 40 explosive missions spread across four campaigns in exotic and tumultuous regions of Africa.

A beautifully accurate landscape that includes highly detailed terrain from Madagascar, the Rift Valley, Morocco, and Ethiopia unfolds beneath the player as he rips through the airspace above taking out anti-government rebels attempting to destabilize the region. Employing the F-16's lightning fast speed and maneuverability, as well as awesome firepower at his disposal, the player will carry out deep-strikes, raids, reconnaissance, air and ground support missions while making mincemeat out of enemy F-15s, SU-27s, Cobra Attack copters and land or sea-based targets like T-80 tanks, APCs, carriers and cruisers.

Uniquely detailed AI that controls tanks, helicopters, boats, trains, planes and cars helps bring to life the most realistic world yet seen in an entertainment flight simulation. In addition, contrary to most combat flight sims on the market, the player won't have to sacrifice high-end graphics for speed. Support for a vast array of graphic cards, resolution and bit depths makes F-16 Aggressor as drop-dead gorgeous as the missions are all-out deadly. Created especially for Windows 95, F-16 Aggressor is scheduled for launch in Q4 of 1998.
