PolAF selects Rockwell Collins F-16 trainer

March 5, 2008 (by Asif Shamim) - The Polish Air Force has selected the Rockwell Collins F-16C Modular Simulated Aircraft Maintenance Trainer (MSAMT) for the training of the aircraft’s maintenance personnel. Delivery is expected in April 2008.
The MSAMT Trainer developed by Rockwell Collins provides next generation maintenance training using an interactive virtual image environment. The MSAMT design supports classroom based training for novice and advanced F-16 maintenance personnel.

The Polish MSAMT is a derivative of the 24 US Air Force MSAMT trainers that Rockwell Collins developed and delivered in 2005. The system supports all configurable variations of the F-16 block 40 and block 50 aircraft.

"The MSAMT trainer, with its knowledge-based training, provides our customers with lower life cycle costs and the latest technology for training F-16 maintenance personnel," said Ken Schreder, vice president and general manager of Simulation & Training Solutions for Rockwell Collins.

The selection marks the second MSAMT delivered to a foreign customer. Rockwell Collins delivered an MSAMT trainer to the Egyptian Air Force in September 2007 under a multi year USAF support contract.
