The Portuguese government will sell 12 F-16's, and some other defense equipment like Puma and Alouette II helicopters.

For all this equipment
Portugal hopes to receive 290 million euros.
Of the actual 40 Portuguese Air Force (
PoAF) F-16s (two units with 20 F-16s each), Portugal wishes to keep only 28 F-16's (two units with 14 F-16's each).
Before the F-16 go to the market they will receive the Mid-life Update (
MLU).
