52nd Fighter Wing gets new vice commander

January 22, 2006 (by Stars & Stripes) - The 52nd Fighter Wing at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, has a new vice commander. Col. Thomas Berghoff took over for Col. Scott West on Saturday, according to an Air Force press release.
Berghoff, who entered the Air Force in 1983, is a command pilot with more than 4,000 flying hours -- the majority of those in the F-16. He has been involved in 100 combat sorties.

Prior to assuming the position of vice commander, Berghoff served as the commander of the Joint Fires Center of Excellence at Spangdahelm. He also served as commander of the 524th Fighter Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M.

West leaves his post at Spangdahlem to become the commander of the 27th Fighter Wing at Cannon.
