F-16s fly cover in operation Lion Drop

Nine C-130s from Ramstein's 37thAirlift Squadron delivered equipment and people as part of Operation Lion Drop IV -- a joint mass tactical exercise conducted with the U.S. Army's Southern European Task Force.
Operation Lion Drop IV also included participation from two A-10s, 10F-16s, KC-135s and 18 safety monitors from the Army's 1/508th Airborne Combat Team.
The A-10s from Spangdahlem AB, Germany, and F-16s from Aviano AB, Italy, provided escort and close air support for the C-130s.
The KC-135 tankers provided air refueling for the F-16s.
