General Electric wins $57.8M contract to support F-16 fleet

General Electric has been awarded a $57.8 million contract to support the Service Life Extension Plan (SLEP) and Aging Engine Upgrade (AEU) initiatives applicable to the F100-GE-100/129 Engine; F-16 aircraft.
GE will provide for newly redesigned High Pressure Compressor and High Pressure Turbine assemblies, newly redesigned Aging Engine Upgrade components, initial provisioning spares, and new technical data.
A requirement responds to the need for 20 more years of operability from the U.S. F-16 fleet. This award covers 95 engines.
The works should be complete by June 2006.
