Cannon wins Colombian Trophy

The 27th Fighter Wing, Cannon AFB, New Mexico, received the 2003 Colombian Trophy for best achievement in safety among all U.S. Air Force fighter and reconnaissance wings/groups.
F-16 units have won this prestigious award eight times in the last 13 years and the last four years in a row.
The 27th FW consists of four F-16 squadrons, the 522nd FS "Fireballs", the 523rd FS "Crusaders", the 524th FS "Hounds of Heaven" and the 428th FS "Buccaneers". The latter one is a hybrid US Air Force/Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) squadron.
The wing operates a wide variety of F-16s: Block 30/40/50 and the Singapore block 52 aircraft.
