1991-1994: I was a crew chief on F-16 aircraft stationed at Eglin AFB, FL.

1994-2002: I was a hydraulics specialist / trainer on KC-135 aircraft stationed at the 171st ARW, Pittsburgh, PA.

Current or Favourite assignment

Eglin AFB, is a test wing which means I was exposed to weapons that the rest of the Air Force had never seen before.

Deployments

1993: I attended Red Flag at Hill AFB, UT.

I received an incentive ride in the back of 90-0835 Block 50 GE 129 from Holloman AFB, NM to Eglin AFB, FL in 1.7 hrs. This experience was intense! We broke mach, flew inverted, and pulled 6 Gs.

My supervisor, Jack Pfiester, was a perfectionist and demanded excellence from me. His vision was for me to be better as compared to all the airmen I arrived with. He would constantly cut my safety wire so I would do the task quicker.

I worked for Jack while at Eglin AFB. Jack was a constant professional who carried a high level of confidence with the work he did. Jack was known as the go-to guy.

I heard a few years back that he had passed away; I was very saddened to hear this... he impacted my life and I carry some of his traits that I learned from him in my current role as a COO.
