My first assignment was Homestead AFB (great first assignment) with a handfull of brand new F-16s. 4 hours a night then drinking beer on the back porch at work. Then off to the ROK for a year then back to Homestead untill it blew away. Then I ended up at Moody. I couldn't wait to get out of there and I didn't want to go back to the ROK so a volunteered for Alaska (Alaska Air Comand is still alive and well regardless of what PACAF says). From there I went Aviano and then they sent me to Eglin AFB to retire (on F-15s). Now I have a contractor job at Moody crewing the T-6A TexanII. UPDATE: I just got a contractor job crewin the Ground Training Aircraft at Sheppard AFB.
Current or Favourite assignmentThe 306th was my first unit, then when they deactivated we became the 308th which was the best squadron I've been in... Untill we got blown out of Homestead and went to Moody. There we started out as the best AMU on base untill we desolved into the 68th, the worst AMU I have ever been in. The worst AMU in ACC acording to an ACC survey.DeploymentsI've been on probably hundreds of TDY's, which we considered deployments if they were overseas back in the day. Some of the countries I've been to include Norway, Canada, Germany, Italy, England, Guam, PI, and Singapore. Of course that was before the war. After that I have been to sandy locations 11 times. And I aint goin back. |
