First assignment was at Luke AFB crewin 83-1146. Got my first overseas assignment to Kunsan AB, ROK crewing 89-2066. Went back to Luke AFB and ended up crewing the flagship, 87-0356. Took her over from "Uncle" Bourland when supervision made him give her up. Got force retrained and moved out to JB MDL, NJ working C-17's. Worked the line there for several years and then moved on over to the Maintenance Squadron watching over the guys working the C-17s, KC-10s, and KC-46s there. Finally retired and now I am living that "Grumpy Old Vet" life.

KC-10A Extender tanker

A KC-10A Extender from the 6th Air Refueling Squadron, Travis AFB, Calif., flys a mission while deployed to the 2nd Air Expeditionary Group, Naval Station Diego Garcia. Although the KC-10A's primary mission is aerial refueling, it can combine the tasks of tanker and cargo aircraft by refueling fighters while carrying the fighters' support people and equipment during overseas deployments. The KC-10A can transport up to 75 people and about 170,000 pounds (76,560 kilograms) of cargo a distance of about 4,400 miles (7,040 kilometers). Without cargo, the KC-10A's unrefueled range is more than 11,500 miles. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Amn Sarah Shaw)

Sgt Doudy. Long time! I want to get on here as your wipe for 356. How the hell are you? I see you are on C-17s still. Brings heavy Chief is much different than being a fighter guy
