I have been out of the Air Force for almost 3 years now. Time sure does fly by. I currently am working for my inlaws managing their assisted living home while also pursuing my entrepreneurial desires. My time in the Air Force is time that I will never forget. There are times I ask myself why the hell I ever got out and other times I am glad that I chose to get out. Two things are for sure. I will never forget the smell of burnt JP-8 and the heat of the flightline at Luke. I also miss the camraderie that was present among crew chiefs and other aircraft maintainers.

Current or Favourite assignment

The 308th was where I cut my crew chief teeth. Working the line was a great experience even when it was 120 degrees outside. I learned a lot about F-16 maintenance from a lot of great guys.

This was my first jet as a DCC and I was very proud to be the DCC.
F-16 Phase
Unit 56MXS
Period 2002 - 2003
I did a PCA down to phase. This was an awesome assignment and I learned a lot.
Unit 8th MOS
Period 2003 - 2004
I spent the year working the MOC while I was at the Kun. I had a great time while I was there and met a lot of cool guys. I also learned a lot about Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point which have proven to be a valuabe tools in my career. I want some spicy beef bulgogi from Cherry Boys!! MMMMM!!!
F-117 Nighthawk
Unit 49th MXS
Period 2004 - 2005
During my last year at Holloman I worked crash recovery. Crash recovery at Holloman was different because we also did a bunch of heavy maintenance such as landing gear, flight controls surfaces, cable riggings, canopy R&I, etc. It was an intense job when we would get an emergency call and have to drive like a bat out of hell to get out there. Working on the F-117 is a whole different ball game compared to the F-16.

I was part of the recovery of this jet out in the desert. Fun times.
