USAF F-16A block 10 #79-0327 arrives at Luke AFB on April 4th, 2006. The F-16 will become a static display in front of the 944th FW headquarters painted in World War II Tuskegee colors complete with a red tail. The F-16 is scheduled to be unveiled as part of the annual Tuskegee Convention, which will be in Phoenix in August. The 301st and 302nd FS of the 944th FW trace their heritage to the Tuskegee Airmen. Moved to Luke AFB to be preserved for the 302nd FS AFRes.
11 Jul 2006 [pre] 79327 'LR' F-16A Block 10 " By Request II"
Contractors carefully bolt an F-16 painted in World War II Tuskegee colors onto its pedestal on July 11th, 2006 at Luke AFB. The F-16A #79-0327 will become a static display in front of the 944th Fighter Wing headquarters and is scheduled to be unveiled during a dedication ceremony on August 2nd, 2006. The 944th Fighter Wing's 301st and 302nd Fighter Squadrons trace their roots to the Tuskegee Airmen. [USAF photo by SSgt Susan Stout]
